There has been some confusion about how do you register for the UPCOMING New Orleans Reunion, Airport Doubletree. First let me say do it NOW because I know that at least one tour will sell out because the room size is maxed out at 160 people. That is the all day tour to the WW II museum including the Tom Hanks movie which is stunning and interactive, The museum is 4 times large than it was in the beginning and the tour included lunch and an USO tour. Just to make it better the Board approved installing a BLOCK of bricks which includes one for ever AE ship that served in WW II.
So heres how you do it.By phone the best way is to call the hotel DURING THE WEEK regular Central time business hours at 504 303-3010 and ask for Becky and tell them you are with the AE/AOE Sailors Association you may book any time between Saturday Sept 29th Tuesday NIGHT to October 9 (you depart Wed morning) The rate is $125 Our blocked rooms are Tuesday Oct 2 to Sunday morning Oct 7th.Arrive Tuesday if you can because tours start on Wednesday. Bocked rooms are guarenteed up until out block is filled. The other dates are in the contract 3 days ahead and 3 days after the reunion and you get them IF the hotel is not sold out. If its the weekend and you just have to do it then call 800 774-1500 and you get the Hilton Central Reservations number Tell them you are with the AE/AOE Sailors Association and the booking group code is AEO ( no thats not an error) and everything should be fine at $125 a night. If they say anything else than yes, please wait and call the hotel on a weekday.and call or email me at dd694@verizon.net? This year you can also book on line yourself ( good luck) this is the link to do that http://doubletree.hilton.com/…/MSYKNOT-AEO-20…/index/.jhtml… Just copy it and paste it into google and hope it works.
More to come on the tours for the week

As of April 24th 58 of our 90 blocked rooms are reserved. AE-9 is 20% of the attendees who have already made their reservations. Almost everyone is coming in early so they can take the Plantation tour to Laura Plantation. Registration forms are coming in so now is the time to get it together and MAKE YOUR HOTEL RESERVATIONS. As a result of the work of Kurt Julsen ads appeared in several veterans newsletters, magazines and newsletters. As a result over 100 newsletters were sent out to prospective members. If you have friends that you think would enjoy the New Orleans reunion just email me to send them a newsletter and be sure to tell you they will miss a great time. Life is short so lets let the good times roll! Bev King PS you can call me as well at 626 339-9793.
