Thank you for the great job on resurrecting the old web site, Doc. I served aboard the Mazama from 2/67 to 4/69 in the Supply Department as Disbursing Officer and later Supply Officer. I came aboard in Davisville, RI and experienced the Brewer Dry Dock Upgrades in Staten Island; the Gitmo Shakedown Training; the Convoy Exercise to Halifax, Nova Scotia; the ’67-’68 Med Cruise; the ’69 Panama Canal Crossing; and the ’69 Pearl Harbor Visit (during the filming of Tora! Tora! Tora!). I left the ship in Subic Bay, Philippines. I will always remember with great affection and respect my days on the Mazama.
