My grandfather Marvin Ross served on the Mazama in WWII. My grandmother showed me his official discharge papers which stated he served on the ship. He passed away seven years ago.

My father was on board when it was attacked. He explain how great the sailors were on the ship and was proud to serve with them and how they stuck together after the attack. He passed in 1979. May God be with you all that served together on the U.S.S. Mazama
