E-mail received October 10, 2010, sent to Doc:

Clayton: My father-in-law, Leroy E. (Mac) McIntosh, 85 (86 this November), was on board the USS Mazama when it was attacked. I am emailing for him because he does use the computer, although his wife, Nell, 83, does use email www.nellmcintosh@comcast.net. Mac is still alive and doing well. His memory is Great. He has lost sight in one eye and can only see pretty good out of the other one. He was a coxswain in the 1st Section, 1st Division and he as assigned to sweep the deck when he and a Chief spotted the wake of the torpedo right before it hit. He has been trying to get information on others and when there may be a reunion.

He lives in Hanahan, SC close to Charleston. I am married to his eldest daughter, Rosemarie McIntosh.

It would be a huge thrill if one of you could contact Mac and give him some information. I will try to update your website with his information when I have time to take it all down. Here is some contact information:
