Boarded the Mazama in Davisville around October 1968, just in time for the 69 Westpac cruise. Had a great time with a great crew and saw things I never would have expected to see in my life!
I worked in CIC as an RD-2 with some good guys. Especially fond of Chief Wahking and Dave Rumpletin [Postal Clerk and awesome radar scope watch stander!]
Hope this e-mail finds my shipmates healthy and well.

Best Regards,
Dennis Milan

We did have a great crew and were very fortunate to have gotten through the cruise relatively unscathed. I remember Captain Viscardi telling the tugs to stand off when we returned to Davisville saying “I took her out and I’m bringing her home” and sidled up to the pier without tugs.
