My Father-in-law, Owen K. Doughrity told us that he served on this ship during WWII. He rarely talked of the war, but his granddaughter (my daughter) actually got this information from him when he was in the hospital a few months before his passing at the age of 92 1n 2019. He has been gone a little of a year now and we are searching for any information we can about his service.

Hi Scot. Thanks for your dad’s service. Just because his name does not show up on the official crew’s list published by the US Navy, it does not mean he wasn’t aboard. We have been contacted by many former crew members who provided some family verification of serving aboard the USS Mazama AE-9. Thanks for contacting us. Doc USS Mazama – WesPac Cruise – Vietnam – 1966.
