Paul extended his enlistment to make the 1966 WesPac deployment. He was out of the Navy when Mazama tied up in Davisville on return from WesPac12/21/66! Good engineman and all around good guy.

We will be happy to welcome you at the AE/AOE Sailors Assoc. reunion. This year it is in New Orleans. 2019 in Newport R. I Member or not all AE or AOE Sailors are welcome.

I remember going into Da Nang in 69, June-July maybe, but not sure of the date. I know the Marines needed them and Mazama was the closest at the time.
Also, remember going into Cam Ranh Bay and being met by a PBR, to take one of our guys home for his Dad’s funeral, around August 1969.

1969 WestPac Cruise
From boot camp San Diego, I came aboard the USS Mazama in Jan 1964, departed in Sept 1989 (SA to SD2) for duty on board USS Independence CVA-62. Have all the cruise books except the 1969 Vietnam cruise . Will attend the re-union in October 2018. See you guys!
