I may have known Jim but it was some time ago now. I wonder if you were referring to the Westpac trip to the Phillipines to rearm ships up and down the Vietnam coast. I was an electronics tech on the Mazama from 65 to 67. You are right, there was a lot of good men on her. I am sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We are all getting along these days.

    Thanks for contacting our website. There are a group of former Mazama crew who still stay in touch. Drop me a personal email and I will get you in touch with a few. Yes, I was on board for the WesPac cruise to Vietnam. We arrived back in Davisville, RI a few days before Christmas.

    I was the ETR on that ship and you taught me a lot. Thank you
    Left the Navy and spent 32 years in the Pentagon after graduating from Maryland, still live in DC
