My elderly father would like to reconnect with the sailors he served with aboard AE-9. He recently had another stroke and needs the morale boost his formers crewmates could give.l

I may have known Jim but it was some time ago now. I wonder if you were referring to the Westpac trip to the Phillipines to rearm ships up and down the Vietnam coast. I was an electronics tech on the Mazama from 65 to 67. You are right, there was a lot of good men on her. I am sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We are all getting along these days.
I was an MR on the Mazama 1966 westpac tour first time signing in
My Father-in-law, Owen K. Doughrity told us that he served on this ship during WWII. He rarely talked of the war, but his granddaughter (my daughter) actually got this information from him when he was in the hospital a few months before his passing at the age of 92 1n 2019. He has been gone a little of a year now and we are searching for any information we can about his service.
